Houston Department of Health opens 13,070 appointment slots for COVID-19 vaccination for the week of March 22

HOUSTON – The Houston Department of Health opened 13,070 new COVID-19 vaccination appointment slots on Sunday for the week of March 22-27, 2021. Appointments are for Johnson & Johnson vaccine at Bayou City Event Center or early Modern vaccine doses at Delmar Stadium and Parking Place.

Individuals eligible for vaccination based on the criteria of the Texas Department of Health Services can visit HoustonEmergency.org/covid19 or the following direct links to self-register.

Dating portals will close when spaces are filled.

Appointments are only confirmed upon receipt of an email or text message and the confirmation numbers will be verified on the site. People who show up without confirmed appointments will be rejected.

The appointment log is also available by phone for persons 60 and older through the Area Agency on Aging at 832-393-4301. People with disabilities can call the Aging and Disabilities Resource Center at 832-393-5500. Anyone else who needs assistance registering can contact the COVID-19 call center at 832-393-4220.

The department sent out appointment invitations to the roughly 80,000 people on its vaccine waiting lists with a response rate of roughly 35 percent. Waiting lists are currently closed, but appointment invitations will continue to be sent to people on the lists. The department may reopen waiting lists in the future.

People can get information about new dating opportunities through email, text messages, voice calls, or push mobile app notifications by signing up for AlertHouston’s HoustonRecovers subscription at AlertHouston.org.
