High Court hearing on phone tapping

AMRAVATI: A case filed by Visakhapatnam lawyer Nimmi Grace seeking a CBI probe into the tapping of the phones of some judges is being heard in the high court. Justice Rakesh Kumar’s counsel Shravan Kumar told the bench that the Chief Justice was already satisfied with the bench’s arguments and had issued notices to network providers, CBI and CVCs of various companies.

Advocate Shravan said the bench of Justices Rakesh Kumar and Umadevi was of the view that it would have been better if the trial had been held in the same bench as the Chief Justice had issued notices to the respondents after hearing the arguments of the bench. The Chief Justice directed that the case be transferred to the bench.
