(NBC NEWS) A high school student from Missouri is a hero after to save the life of an 8th grade student.
Kaelie Burk was driving home from Wentzville High School on the bus when she said someone in the front pulled a fourth down the aisle.
The room fell into Kaelie's throat. Austin Medlock, a sophomore, was a couple of seats away from Kaelie when he saw her drown.
He stood up and performed the Heimlich maneuver on her, a quick action that saved Kaelie's life by clearing her airway.
"He did not manage to pull out the entire quarter, but at least he was able to breathe," Austin said.
