Halo Infiniti will have smarter AI enemies that exploit the environment around them to attack in new ways, including picking up fellow enemies and throwing them at you. Jerry Hook, Head of Design at 343 Industries, confirmed that brutes could pick up grunts and throw them at you – which is new to the Halo series.
Hook said during a group, “The biggest thing with brutes is that you don’t usually see that they pick up the grunts and throw them at the player. Can an elite do that? No! An animal sure. Roopa can do it, ”the interview was attended by VideoGamesChronicle.
Later in the interview, Hooke said that “grunt toss” is just one element of how 343 has programmed AI to be more strategic in how they will come after you.
“Grunt toss is one of the key elements where you start AI to take advantage of sandboxes that you haven’t seen before,” he said. “So you still have a great sense of AI taking advantage of the shield and cover that was so important to the Halo experience that we have in the past, but we wanted to give them more. We give them more awareness Wanted to give. The sandbox itself and be able to use it. If you get a different weapon to let an AI go, don’t be surprised. “
Writing on Twitter, Hook said, “You’ll see more AI interacting with the sandbox than ever before.”
Halo Infiniti releases this holiday as a launch title for the Xbox Series X, while it will also be released on Xbox One and PC. For much more on the game, which was recently unveiled appropriately, check out some of GameSpot’s recent stories below.
