PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Heinz Field COVID-19 vaccination clinic will offer more appointments.

Giant Eagle announced that it is expanding the clinic after “an overwhelmingly positive response.” Additional appointments will be available through Giant Eagle’s online scheduling tool.
These appointments will be March 8-9 and will be available on Friday afternoon. Giant Eagle says more appointments can be added as the vaccine is received.

The clinic started this week. Giant Eagle said more than 4,000 people will receive the vaccine between Tuesday and Friday.
It is for people in Phase 1A from Pennsylvania. Appointments can be made here.
Allegheny Health Network and Dick’s Sporting Goods are also establishing a mass coronavirus vaccination site to vaccinate more than 5,000 people in Phase 1A.
Appointments have already been filled for Friday’s clinic, which is located at the company’s corporate office in Coraopolis. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

According to a statement, the clinic is the “largest single-day COVID-19 vaccination clinic to date in the great western region of Pennsylvania.”
