Halo 3 received its last official new map in 2009, as part of the Mythic II map pack release. Now, 343 Industries has announced that a new map, first unveiled at Halo online, will be added to the next round of Master Chief Collection beta testing.

In a blog post published today on Halo landmark, 343 announced a new round of flights for the Master Chief Collection. Flighting is a limited beta testing series for certain players. Here’s how 343 tests new features and future changes. 343 says the new round of beta testing, which will include the new aura 3, it could start from February 18.

This new map comes out of Halo online, an exclusive online spin now closed aura developed by Saber Interactive built with a modified version of the Halo 3 engine. Released only in Russia in 2015 via closed beta and no longer updated fand have tried to modify Halo online and make it playable around the world, but Microsoft has rejected these efforts. Many fans have also asked to bring Halo online maps in MCC, and now 343 has.

Based on a screenshot included in the post, the new map looks like a human military base located on some icy glaciers. While 343 says this will be “a new map for Halo 3 from Halo Online”, looking Halo online maps, does not match any of the maps that appeared in the closed game. It also doesn’t look much like any of the supposedly canceled maps that were never added to Halo online before closing. Nevertheless, the URL of the screenshot included in the blog post mentions the name “Cascade”, which is a canceled Halo online Map which featured icy concept art. Still, which map this is remains a mystery. But getting a new map for one of the best shooters ever created is exciting.

There’s more to get excited about this next MCC To update. the Master Chief Collection you are getting a suitable server browser. Taking into account the amount of content that is included MCC, it can be difficult to find a specific match using basic matching tools. Being able to scroll through a list of servers to find people playing Lockout Swords 24/7 at three in the morning sounds perfect.

I’m also happy that the FOV slider on Xbox Series X will be working in 120hz mode soon, and that the FOV sliders will be added to all Xbox versions of the game. FOV sliders for everyone!
