‘Grey’s Anatomy’ teases the return of another beloved character

“Grey’s Anatomy” fans are getting one surprise after another this season.

Although the ABC medical drama currently features lead character Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) fighting for her life after contracting COVID-19, her hospitalization has offered viewers a chance to see her reconnect with her deceased loved ones.

Thursday night’s episode concluded with a sneak peek of what’s to come next week, and shows Gray meeting up with his half-sister Lexie, known as “Little Gray,” on a beach.

The promo for the next episode shows Gray looking at the ocean, the same place where she previously met her late husband on the series, Dr. Derek Shepherd, played by Patrick Dempsey.

He hands her a towel and grabs it, only to realize seconds later that the person giving it to him is his late sister played by Chyler Gray.

“Lexie?” Gray says surprisingly.

Gray then admits, “I like it here,” and Lexie responds, “Are you staying?”

Leigh’s return comes after nine seasons since her character was killed in a plane crash, which appeared in the season 8 finale. Leigh joined the show from 2007 to 2012, first as a guest star before becoming a character. full-time.

The official Twitter account for the television series shared the clip and wrote, “You’ve been waiting for this one.”

The tweet got mixed reactions from fans.

“I’m surprised you spoiled it in a preview! Great move!” one person said, to which another replied, “Probably to raise grades.”

However, others thanked the show for bringing Lexie back and pleaded with the writers not to kill Gray.

“I’ve missed her so much, but please let Mer live, she might like being there because she misses Lexie and Derek, but her kids need her” a tweet read.
