Original article: Traditionally, Google launched its flagship Pixel smartphone lineup in Fall. The COVID-19 epidemic has made quite a few changes in the industry so far, however, we have crossed our fingers in the hope that the normal deadline will be again this year. That being said, we are absolutely confident that Google Pixel 5 is at some point soon!
Although we are about a month away from the alleged Pixel 5 release date, we already know a lot about the device. We have only a few tidbits to go for now, but we know what to expect, to start making a picture of it.

When is Google Pixel 5 coming?
One should not be surprised, we are certain that the next Pixel flagship will be named Google Pixel 5. Google has confirmed that to be the case.
However, we have plenty of evidence to suggest that the Google Pixel 5 XL card may not be there this year. Thanks by some code-sleuthing 9to5Google, We are now under the impression that only one “flagship” phone will come from Google this year.

As far as the release date of Pixel 5 goes, it is possible that we can see the launch on October 8, 2020. We learned this date from a French version of Google of the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G, which incorrectly included pre-order. Date Google eventually removed this information, leading us to believe that the launch event could be dated.
Even if that date is not correct, the October launch is a safe bet. It is unlikely that the Pixel 5 event will be delayed to the extent of the Google Pixel 4a release, which came three months later than expected.
Although Google has not directly confirmed this, we expect Pixel 5 to be included in the event launched by Google Pixel 4a 5G, a slightly improved version of the recently released Pixel 4a. If two phones do not land in the same event, they will definitely launch near each other.
Google Pixel 5 Rumors: Design
Last year Google first changed the overall design of its flagship Pixel phones. With the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, Google changed the size of the phone, removed the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, completely overhauled the camera module, and withdrew its display changes from the Pixel 3 line . It was a big innings!
Naturally, it makes sense to think that Google Pixel 5 will only be an updated version of Pixel 4. Due to the recent leaking information, it may not be that it hit the store shelves before being disappointed with Pixel 4, the flagship player of the Pixel team.

Keeping this in mind, Google Pixel 5 may look completely different from Pixel 4. So far, we have seen only one official image of the Google Pixel 5, and it is below. We expect the Pixel 5 to be the phone on the left with a black power button:
The official render above shows that the Pixel 5 may be slightly smaller than the Google Pixel 4a 5G, which is the phone on the right. However, we are not sure about sizing in relation to known devices like Pixel 4a or Pixel 4.
The “5”, as well as the left phone render, suggests to a large extent that the matte textured sides of the Google Pixel 4 would be present on the Pixel 5, possibly instead of around the rim. Although it is difficult to say for sure based on an image.
Thankfully, we have an ever-reliable leaker OnLeaks. with the support of Pricebaba, OnLeaks shared some renders of the device as well as a quick video. See them below:
Renderers suggest that Pixel 4 may look a lot more than Pixel 4 compared to Pixel 4. They also suggest the phone can do away with Motion Sense, a radar-based system that Google uses on the Pixel 4 that allows for high-security face unlock. The rear fingerprint sensor, as well as the solitary selfie cam cutout, suggest that the motion sense is not returning.
Recently, we saw what appears to be the first real-life images of the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G. See them here:
We estimate that Pixel 5 is on the left and Pixel 4a 5G is on the right. This bodes well with the leaked render we’ve already seen for both devices.
What about the processor?
Every flagship Pixel phone has two things: the latest Qualcomm 800-series processor and the latest version of Android. While we are certain that Google Pixel 5 will come with Android 11, we are more and more skeptical that it will have this year’s Qualcomm flagship, the Snapdragon 865.
Multiple Google Pixel 5 leaks suggest the phone will sport a more mid-range processor. At the moment, all the evidence suggests that the Snapdragon 765G might be what strength in the Pixel 5 lineup.
At this point, we are very sure that the Pixel 5 will have a mid-range processor, but it may be good for your wallet.
Why would Google make this change? The most likely reason we can think of is cost. A fully featured Pixel phone with Snapdragon 865 will need to start at $ 1,000, much as the Samsung Galaxy S20 line phones do. Even if Google cut a bunch of corners, it would be able to bring down the starting price for just one $ 899, the starting price for the OnePlus 8 Pro.
However, if Google goes with the Snapdragon 765G instead, it can keep costs down while providing greater processing capability and 5G compatibility. It will also make Pixel phones available to cash-conscious consumers, who will compare the price of the Google Pixel 5 to the Galaxy S20 line.
If you’re worried how something like the Snapdragon 765G will compare to the Snapdragon 865, don’t worry: we’ve got you covered.
Google Pixel 5: Other Specs
Recently, a report from Android central A bunch of special rumors have surfaced for Google Pixel 5. Now, these are unverified and should only be taken as a rumor, but they are very valid for us.
According to rumors, the Google Pixel 5 will ship with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and a battery that we saw in the Google Pixel 4. Battery life is one of the biggest criticisms against the entire pixel line.
We are almost certain that the battery in Pixel 5 will be much larger than Pixel 4.
Elsewhere, recent rumors suggest that we will see a 90Hz display refresh rate in the Google Pixel 5. It was expected that the same would happen in Pixel 4, but it is good to know that Google is probably keeping it around Pixel 5 too. Not a standard flagship.
If rumors are to be believed, wireless charging and IP68 rating may also occur. Once again, the Pixel 4 had both these features so it is not unrealistic. For what it’s worth, recent FCC filings also suggested wireless charging for the Pixel 5 (but not the Pixel 4a 5G).
Price and availability
We actually have very strong evidence to support the idea that Google Pixel 5 will return to some old school pixel price. Google surveys are trying to figure out which fictional Pixel phone answering people will firmly buy that Google plans to sell the Pixel 5 for $ 699 as the starting price.
If it passes, it will cost Pixel 5 $ 50 more than the original Google Pixel phone of 2016, which started at $ 649. This is no doubt very good news for Pixel fans.

As far as availability goes, Google confirmed in a press release that both Google Pixel 5 and Google Pixel 4a 5G will be No Available in India or Singapore. It cited “local market trends and product features” as the rationale behind not reaching the phone in those countries. This possibility means that Pixel 4a will focus on developing markets.
Unfortunately, Google has a poor history to speak of the widespread availability of its phones. It is reasonable to expect, however unfortunate it may be, that a full global rollout at the level of Samsung or Apple is probably not in the cards for the Pixel 5 lineup.
