The issue began on September 11, 2020 at 3 pm.
To be clear – issue is Has been fixed It is a complete restoration of material that will take several hours to complete.
We had an index issue with new articles appearing in the top stories starting around 3pm. We have now fixed it, although full restoration will take several hours, perhaps less. We will update when we arrive.

An update will be provided when the fix has fully rolled out.
However no one can be surprised how much it will matter at that point.
Considering the timeliness of the articles in the ‘Top Stories’ section, many of the articles that have been featured may no longer be restored.
This is certainly an obstacle for news publishers, even if the content is later restored.
To Google’s credit the company identified the problem and took immediate action.
In addition, Google gave the term to SEO and site owners as soon as they fixed the issue.
This is a rare time when Google found an error and fixed it before people noticed it.
Traditionally, when indexing errors occur, rumblings occur on Twitter well before Google accepts it.
In fact, it is not uncommon for Google to search for these issues That’s why Of social media.
I have not seen any discussion about this particular issue.
This however does not mean that it will go completely unnoticed, as news publishers will report the effects in their traffic reports.
