Google has not discontinued Chromecast after the new model

Seven years after the original, a new Chromecast has arrived on the market that finally fulfills the request since the original by adding a remote to people. So, does that mean the $ 30 Chromecast will be discontinued? Nope – it’s sticking around!

For the foreseeable future, the Chromecast 3 Generation, which comes for the first time in 2019, will remain for sale. Google says the product will continue to offer “an easy, simple way to insert content”. Pricing will be the same as $ 30.

Meanwhile, Chromecast Ultra is undergoing some changes. The product, which has recently gone out of stock through most retail channels, will only be sold through the Stadia Premier Edition bundle. Why? Well, at $ 70, it wouldn’t matter much for anyone to buy Chromecast Ultra on Chromecast with Google TV, except that Google Stadia won’t come up with the new model until next year. Therefore, Chromecast Ultra will bridge the gap for the time being and, as a result, will not be closed yet.

The new Chromecast with Google TV is available today through the Google Store, Best Buy, Walmart and Target for $ 49. The third-gen Chromecast is still available for $ 30 from most major retailers. The Stadia Premiere Edition with Chromecast Ultra can be purchased from the Google Store or Best Buy for $ 99.
