A revival of Google Group content design for all users starting next month will remain in beta for the next several months, the company announced in a blog post. The new interface, which has several “highly requested features”, according to Google, replaces tags and categories in a new mobile design, updated collaborative inboxes, and labeled groups.
The group’s mobile redesign will do away with the old and surprisingly old form and give it closer to the desktop version. This will make it easier to browse and search groups on mobile, manage membership settings, and read group conversations.
The label will allow users to filter and search for messages in a group. Updates to the collaborative inbox, which allows teams to use Google Groups as an email list, will add filters and quick search so that users in the group can find conversations in the group.
The new Google Groups will be available to all G Suite customers and will begin September 15.
