In America, the search for “how to vote” is reportedly more than they have ever been. If you are looking for your nearest early voting location, where to leave your mail-in ballot, or where to go on election day, Google can help. Today, it is launching new search and map features to help you find the voting answers you are looking for.
You can test new features by searching for words like “early voting places” or “ballot drop boxes near me”. Google will then give you details of where you can vote or leave your mail-in ballot. After that, you will be able to click through Google Maps for information about location, direction, and voting time. Google cites the Voting Information Project, a nonrecursive partnership between Democracy Works and state election officials, as an information source for this new search functionality.
Google has also mentioned that the updated functionality will soon come to the assistant, allowing you to ask for voting information on the go. With the conclusion of the election in fast, these features will certainly be useful to many people – I wish they were effective when I dropped my ballot. Try new features and make your voice heard on this election day.
