German jeweler, in his 70s, shoots two suspected robbers: report


BERLIN – Police say a jeweler shot and killed two people in the northern German city of Banana, suspected of trying to rob his business.

German news agency DPA reported on Tuesday that one suspected robber died on the spot, while the other later died in hospital.

Selle police have appealed to witnesses ahead of the incident on Monday afternoon. They are especially eager to hear any tourists who were probably taking photos in the picturesque old town of Kelly at the time.
