General Con Announces 2021 Dates for Person Tabletop Conference

Organizers plan to bring back the in-person event in 2021 for General Con, the largest tabletop gaming conference in the US. On Tuesday, organizers announced dates for next year’s show: August 5-8, 2021 at the Indianapolis Convention Center. .

“Our goal for the new year is to employ Gen Con 2021, individually,” Gen Con organizers. “We are working towards that objective with health and safety as our top priority. A physical conference requires many factors to come together, and we are carefully monitoring local and national safety and travel guidelines, health data, resource availability, and the advice of our finest saints, scientists and magicians. “

General Con was founded in 1968 by Lake Gaigax co-producer Gary Gaigax as the Lake Geneva Vergames Conference. The event – which includes role-playing games, board games, collectible card games and more – was eventually sold to former Wizards of Coast CEO Peter Edison in 1997. The conference has been held in Indiana since 2003. The event was canceled in May due to a one-person novel coronavirus epidemic this year.

When you can sign up for a badge, for more information – and register for a tricky hotel room – keep an eye on General Con’s Facebook page or sign up for the newsletter on the official website.

The Gen Con announcement follows the rollout of a vaccine for the COVID-19 virus, which began being administered in the US this week. PAX, another high-profile series of fan conferences, recently announced dates for its 2021 conferences.
