A blackout caused the Prudential Center in Newark to die down as fans prepared for the Garth Brooks concert on Sunday, December. , 3.

Opening act Mitch Rossell was on stage when the juice stopped. The audience spontaneously began singing Brooks' hit "Friends in Low Places" while waiting for power to re-establish, according to a Twitter post.

The show was the third of the weekend for Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood at the Prudential Center.

"Approximately at 7:50 p.m. this evening, Prudential Center experienced a brief power cut, power restored quickly and tonight's performance is moving forward as scheduled, "said a tweet from the Prudential Center . The representatives of the Prudential Center and Brooks did not immediately respond to a request for comments and more information about the interruption.
