GameStop released a PS5 restock and an Xbox Series X restock this morning, giving PlayStation and Xbox fans a chance to purchase each of the hard-to-get consoles. At press time, the Xbox Series X restock is still available in a limited capacity, but the PS5 stock is completely out of stock and it is unknown when the next restock will be available.
That said, while many Xbox customers are finally buying the Xbox Series X, it seems that many fell short when trying to buy the PS5. Like GameStop’s previous restocks, the latter was online-only and limited to bundles. In other words, there was no option to buy any of the console models for $ 400 and $ 500. Rather, PlayStation fans had to spend more to buy bundles with additives like controllers and games.
Blocking actions behind packages has its obvious advantages for GameStop, but it is also supposed to limit reseller activity. That said, while it may have succeeded, it didn’t stop the stock from selling in minutes. And in these few minutes there were many problems with the website.
In the tweet announcing the sale of the shares, GameStop customers are furious and criticize the retailer for all the problems and complaints mentioned above.
What a joke
What’s the problem, you don’t want our money? And then banning those who are legit from trying to get a ps5 just because they get updated too many times? What a joke pic.twitter.com/ONobAVSfmM

It is impossible to buy a console on their site. I have been trying since last year. This is ridiculous

A real fight
It really is a struggle to get one. I went through several captchas to prove that I am not a robot and nothing.

Just three minutes
They sold out 3 minutes after they were released, you don’t need to post that they sold out an hour later.

Fell to the final boss
Literally about to place my order after completing everything (previously saved information). But then I get an error message and my cart is empty … the largest L ever delivered to me. pic.twitter.com/4lDffrfFeH

“Friendly” bots can’t walk on GameStop … store launch … you help resellers with online-only launches

How does it keep happening?
I still can’t believe this is still a thing. Who is to blame now? Is it Sony or the retailers? Or the system that allows resellers to buy as many as they want. If Sony shipped all of the inventory to brick shops, everyone who wanted one would have it, but the demand would disappear.
