FSU faces long work, but possibly greater reward from new football schedule

Norwell will have at least four shots to get one in 2020. If there is a season, of course. I think we all understand that just because there is a schedule, it does not mean that all those games will actually be played. We still found ways to get to that front.

But what happened on Wednesday was a positive step.

First and foremost: Now we know what the plan is. It seems that the Pac-12 and the Big Ten had only announced their conference at this point years ago, and we all wondered what the ACC was waiting for.

Well, now we know.

Notre Dame is locked inside and we’ve got a 10-plus-1 model that needs – should! – Includes the year-end Florida State-Florida game, as well as Clemson-South Carolina, Georgia-Georgia Tech and Louisville-Kentucky.

“We are pleased with the plan adopted for fall sports in the ACC,” FSU Athletics Director David Coburn said in a statement Wednesday evening. Very positive for our long-running game against Florida. Although, we regret that we must cancel non-conference games (Boise State, West Virginia and Samford), we worked hard to schedule.
