From Nurkic to Lillard de Blazers, "I wish I could play with my broken leg"

The Trail Blazers have resisted the storm created by the absence of Jusuf Nurkic due to an injury. Despite losing the backbone of their defense, Portland made its way to Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Regardless of the horrific nature of his injury, it is clear that Nurkic longs to join his teammates on the field.

After obtaining a victory in Game 6, Zac Al-Khateeb of Sporting News captured a quote from Damian Lillard that summed up Nurkic's desire to return to the court. According to Lillard, the Bosnian Beast told him that he was willing to risk re-injuring himself for the chance to face his old team.

"Today was the first time he told me when he was sitting next to him on the bench and he said:" Man, I wish I could play with the broken leg. " I would go out there right now and he would hurt me again if I could, "Lillard said during the post-match press conference." And I was like, "This guy is crazy".

Here is a video of Lillard's response after the game (through Bleach report).

A return at this point in his recovery is not based on reality for Nurkic, but we must give support to the heart of the great man.
