PARIS – A French official says that three men and three women have been detained in the investigation of the murder in 2016 of two policemen in his house on behalf of the Islamic State group.
A judicial official said the arrests on Monday were intended to determine the roles, if any, individuals may have had in the couple's murders at their home in Magnanville, west of Paris.
The official refused to confirm the French press reports that one of the women arrested in the sweep in Les Yvelines – where Magnanville is located – and the Val d 'Oise is herself a police officer. The official was not authorized to speak publicly.
Larossi Abballa stabbed the couple before the police killed him. The couple's 3-year-old son survived.
