Chicago rapper Fredo Santana died; The cause of death is not confirmed at this time. I was 27 years old.
The tragic news was first shared by Maxo Kream, a collaborator and friend of Santana. "I'm lost because of the words at the moment," he wrote on Instagram. "RIP a true savage".
Santana, along with Chief Keef (his cousin), Lil Reese and other Chicago acts, helped usher in the 2012 drill music scene, a style of rap that has since spread throughout the influence. In October, Santana (born Derrick Coleman) was transferred to the hospital and was diagnosed with liver and kidney failure, a health problem that could have been caused by drug abuse, including lean.
