So now we are living a period in the life of the music industry in which it is considered a merchandise of an artist of note . Time was an artist like Eminem could throw a brand-name potty carpet and no one would find out. On the one hand, this change in the industry is mostly terrible and turns what was once a collection of online voices really ordered into a consolidated public relations machine, vomiting the sick almost identical capitalists. On the other hand, musicians have to eat, so more power for those who are doing well.
If there is an artist that is doing the merchandise and launching game properly, it is Frank Ocean. By launching more than, say, a collection of cheap baseball hats, their Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers have been unleashed with elements in which it would not be stupid to spend any kind of money. Last year was the Blonded magazine, the album on vinyl, a poster, etc. This year it seemed that Frank had just taken off a hooded sweatshirt. However, that changes today with the physical release of Endless the album he released before Blonde that can be purchased in almost any format you want with a mini-disc. There are also some limited edition, double-sided posters for sale too.
At this point there could be some discussion about why these things are beautiful, how they outperform most other artist's releases, a detailed badysis of exactly how Frank Ocean successfully approached the New Rules of the industry. But you have eyes, we are not your boss, make your own judgment and observe the elements below.
