Fox News host Sandra Smith cuts Trump spokesperson Hogan Gidley to Joe Biden Lies

On the first morning of the 2020 Democratic National Convention, Trump campaign spokesman Hogan Gidley went on Fox News in an effort to restart the race between the president and Joe Biden. It did not go according to plan.

Host Sandra Smith asks Gidley the same question Trump was asked Fox and friend Earlier on Monday, the biggest difference was between the two candidates. While the president talked about “energy,” “fracking” and the stock market, Gidley tried to take a broader view.

“The beauty of this campaign is that you don’t have to guess how things will look under a person because they both have been at the top for so long,” said Gidley. “Joe Biden has a 47-year failed record in elected office, showing nothing for it, quite frankly.”

He said, “What we want to say when he was at the helm, you don’t have to guess what the economy would look like, I just touched it, it was absolutely terrible. People didn’t have jobs. The jobs that were. Were being born, they were being made overseas. ”

“What are you talking about during the Obama administration?” Smith asked, looking a bit confused.

Gidley falsely accused Biden that he wanted to “discredit” the police (he did not) and made frivolous suggestions that when the former Vice President “There was a chance to fix an epidemic” he said, “just stopped testing and said we are not going to do any more testing because we know it is all over the country.” It was not clear what he was talking about at that point.

“Well, there’s a lot to dig up, economy and other things,” Smith said at that point, interrupting his guest’s stream of lies. “Obviously, during the Obama administration, you have to make reference to the fact that you have a significant drop in the unemployment rate stemming from the financial crisis.”

She went further in a new CNN poll, which shows a very poor lead for Biden before defending herself on any of Gidley’s false claims. To his credit, given the chance to praise an outside election that shows his boss in a competitive position, he said that in the end the elections would only be “wrong” as they were in 2016.
