Fortnite Update v7.40: Infantry Rifle, Crossbow, Rocket Launcher, Launch Time and Early Patch Notes for February 13 |

The v7.40 update for Fortnite Battle Royale will go on sale on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices on February 12. Here is all we know about the crossbow, the Zipline changes and more in the new patch!

Although it is not yet available live, a good amount of information related to the Content Update v7.40 has already been revealed thanks to some Reddit messages from Eric Williamson, the Fortnite design leader.

When does the v7.40 update come out?

The highly anticipated v7.40 patch will be released on February 13 after it was initially announced for 12. The exact release time has not yet been confirmed.

The v7.40 patch for Fortnite seems to be one of the largest so far.

Major patches are usually released earlier in the day than the Content Updates, so expect the downtime to start around 09:00 GMT (04:00 EST, 01:00 PST).

We will update this publication with the confirmed release time once it has been announced.

What's new?

Infantry rifle

A new & # 39; Infantry Rifle & # 39; it was announced in the game on February 11 and should be available on February 12.

The infantry rifle is expected to be part of the v7.40 patch,

The old-looking rifle seems to be based on the famous M1 Garand, but we are sure it will have some adjustments.

The announcement in the game says: "The clbadic design is combined with the new combat style".

We will have more information for you when it becomes available.

Fortnite fans have been desperate to see some kind of message that gives them the option to use Ziplines, or not, while they browse the map.

In a publication on Reddit, Eric Williamson confirmed that this will be implemented soon, which makes the possibility of using one by accident significantly less: "The message of Zipline interact was added, and the use of a Zipline will grant immunity to damage by drop"

While it is not TECHNICALLY new, it seems that Crossbows will return to the game in time for Valentine's Day on February 14th.

"Triumphant Return" reads a news message in the game about crossbows. "Cupid's crossbow will be retired for a limited time. Eliminate your opponents with stealth and precision. "

It is currently unknown if there will be major changes in the way Crossbows worked in the past.

The crossbow returns to Fortnite.

Hand cannon

After months of complaints about the power of the Fortnite hand cannon by professional and casual players, it seems that the incredibly powerful pistols will finally be nerfed in the v7.40 patch, at least when it comes to the damage they cause to structures. .

"Damage to the structure of the reduced hand cannon from 150 to 100", says Eric Williamson.

The hand cannon will not tear the structures so easily once the v7.40 patch lands.

Rocket launcher

According to Eric Williamson, the rocket launchers will also receive some important adjustments in the February 12 patch.

For starters, the powerful explosives will now take longer to recharge (increasing from 2.52 seconds to 3.24 seconds). However, the biggest change comes in the form that they are no longer found in loot chests.

Williamson says: "It is also worth mentioning that we are making a change to get the Rocket Launchers out of the chests, although they will still be in Supply Drops (and a little more available there than they are now) and in Vending Machines."

X-4 Stormwing

The controversial Stormwing Planes will once again get a small nerf in the v7.40 update, since they will no longer be able to fly through structures and destroy them.

We will have more information about this change when the notes are published.

Skins, cosmetics and LTMs.

Other new content that we expect, as always, will be skins and various other cosmetics, as well as the possibility of some new limited time modes. We will keep you updated as the information becomes available.
