Fortnite Debut Improves Ray-Tracing Graphics on 17 September


FortniteA graphics update is coming soon for at least some players. On September 17, Nvidia will launch an entire suite of new graphical upgrades, mostly centered around real-time ray tracing.

Real-time ray tracing is one of Nvidia’s RTX lineup of cards as well as AMD’s upcoming graphics cards. New features include ray-tracing reflections with glossy glass surfaces that will show what’s behind you in real time, ray-mark shadows for more realistic dark and detailed shadows, and a host of other light upgrades.

To use all FortniteNew updates of Nvidia, players will need to be compatible with a graphics card with real-time ray tracing. This includes Nvidia’s RTX line, ranging from the Geforce 2060 to the Geforce 2080 Ti, and the recently announced Geforce 3070, 3080, and 3090. Some of Nvidia’s older GTX card software is also capable of ray-tracing. , But Nvidia suggested sticking to RTX cards.
