Ford Mustang Bullitt # 001 will be auctioned by charity

Ford auctioned off the first Ford Mustang Bullitt 2019 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on Friday, and the car brought in an attractive $ 300,000.

That may seem absurd to a regular Mustang production customer that will probably start at a $ 50,000 range, but do not worry: it was all for a good cause.

I would like to paint everything I own in this shade of green.

You should warm your cold, frozen heart to know that 100 percent of the proceeds of the auction will go directly to charity. Specifically, this auction benefited Boys Republic, a school and community for children at risk that helps them learn the skills necessary to start an independent life.

Funny fact: Boys Republic helped Steve McQueen, the iconic actor who starred in the film & # 39; Bullitt & # 39; and made this car possible, when I was a child. Boys Republic has existed since 1907, and the group claims that it has helped more than 30,000 children during that period.

So, if you're the lucky person who picked up this & # 39; Stang from the special edition & # 39; congratulations, you can feel good about where all that money is going. And if the $ 300,000 hammer price of the car ended a little outside of its financial stage, you can always choose a Bullitt other than No. 0001. After all, the first off-line car is no different from the ones that will come. after.

In case you've forgotten, the Ford Mustang Bullitt 2019 is a limited edition model created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the McQueen movie of the same name. It has quasi vintage wheels, several Bullitt badges and all the benefits that come from the Performance and Premium packages of the Mustang GT. The engine components borrowed from the GT350 increase the car's power to 475 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque.
