Ford is issuing three recalls covering 1.5 million Ford and Lincoln vehicles, citing an unintentional downshift to the first gear that caused at least five crashes, the company said Wednesday.
The approximately 1.48 million F-150 trucks have a defect that can cause the truck to temporarily decrease to the first gear. Ford is aware of five accident reports, including a "whiplash" report potentially related to this condition.
