Florida vs Arkansas: Prediction, pick, odds, point spread, line, football game, live stream, kickoff time

No. 6 Florida will be trying to keep its current hot streak alive at The Swamp Saturday night when it hosts an Arkansas team, one of the more pleasant surprises in college football this season. The Gators are away with a convincing win over rival Georgia who established them as front-runners in the SEC East title race. Meanwhile, Arkansas trailed Tennessee’s double-digit, second-half deficit last weekend.

The Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman will not coach on Saturday night after testing positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. Defensive coordinator Barry Odom will serve as interim head coach in his place. Odom was the coach at Missouri from 2016–19.

Florida has defeated Arkansas in nine of 11 matchups. However, in their last meeting in 2016, the RazorBacks topped the Gators. Will the Hogs continue that run and have a notable start or will the Gators get better from this cross divisional matchup at Gainesville. Let’s break the matchbox and lift it straight up and against the spread.

Florida: Star Tight and Kyle Pitts will not play against Georgia after an altercation last week. Coach Dan Mullen said he is not expected to play next week either. This means that Kaymore Gamble – who caught a touchdown last week after a Pitts injury – will serve as the primary tight end. The offense should not miss too much thanks to a beat thanks to the drama of star quarterback Kyle Truss. The redshirt senior has 22 touchdown passes from five games – the same number X-LSU quarterback Joe Burrow had during the first five games of last season.

The Gators defense peaked at number three during the first three games of the season, but Missouri was ranked 3 of 15 and Georgia 13 of 2 in the last two weeks.

Arkansas: It will be the homecoming of former Florida quarterback and current Razorback starter Felipe Franks, who lost his job to Trusk after Franks was injured last September. The Kendall Brens offense, a senior graduate transfer from Crawfordville, Florida, has 174 yards on the ground while throwing for 1,428 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions. The biggest change for the Hogs this season has been to limit big plays on defense. He finished third in the SEC in defensive yards at 5.16 after finishing 13th last season (6.54 yards per game).

Florida vs. Arkansas Prediction, Chooses

Arkansas is 6–0 against the spread this year, and will make it 7–0 this week. This game is left only to the screamers. Pitts ‘injury has dominated the story, but coming down from a high to win a big rivalry last week coupled with the Hogs’ toughness – especially in the trenches – will make it an ugly, old-school dull one. Give me the Gators to win, but the Razorbacks to cover. Florida 30, Arkansas 17 | Pick: Arkansas +17.5
