A Philippine Airlines flight attendant was gang-raped and murdered in a hotel room after a New Year’s Eve party and arrested 11 people for a heinous attack, it surfaced on Tuesday.
Christine Angelica Decera, 23, the Philippine Daily Inquirer, said she was found unconscious in the empty bathtub of her room in Makati City on the morning of 1 January. Officials said friends and hotel staff admitted him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
“Based on the initial investigation, sexual misconduct occurred, ”Philippine National Police spokesman Brig. General Ildbrandi Usana told the paper.
Police said she “had wounds and sperm in her genitalia” as well as scratches on her arms and legs.
The newspaper said that the Makati City Police on Monday made a provisional charge of raping 11 men who were with them during the party.
Three of them were arrested while the others were still hunting, Makati City Police Chief Colonel Harold Deposita told the Daily Inquirer.
“Only three of them were friends of Decera. Others were practically strangers to her, as they were known only to her three friends, ”the police chief said.
Decera was a flight attendant for the Philippine Airlines (PAL) Express, which said it “mourns the tragic death.”
The company said on Tuesday that our desire is to come out in the interest of justice.
Her mother, Sharon Decera, appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte that his daughter has been treated “like a pig” in a “barbaric” crime.
“According to the Daily Inquiry, the grieving mother said,” Christine does not deserve this cruelty … they need to be punished.
