Content creator Cameron ‘Fitz’ McKay has been accused of using the slur “retired” while playing on an EpicSP Minecraft server.
Fitz is a member of the EpicSMP Minecraft server, and one of a list of content creators to whom he was invited.
Things looked to be hitting a cliff for Fitz after he used the slur while streaming Minecraft on Twitch this weekend on Saturday. After wandering around on the server, he stopped nowhere and asked himself, “What exactly am I doing?” I’m retarded.”
On saying this, he came to his senses, where he could use such profanity to abuse his stream and ask in his chat, “Can I say that?” Are they going to drive me crazy on twitter? “
It quickly spread like wildfire within the streaming community and also on Twitter. Most of his fans criticized him for his language. A plethora of tweets began to swarm after the same, with some tweets describing their audience as less annoyed, while others continued to argue the same.
There were also certain tweets where users were less surprised about making a lot out of this scenario. As noted above, many of his fans supported Fitz, while others still saw it as an issue that he used.
Fitz, who was blown away by his actions, responded in a sarcastic manner, “I hope we live in a world someday where no one can say anything”
A user on Twitter responded to the chaos, where he replied to the above tweet, “” You can say whatever you want but people have the right not to like what you say “
This is not the first time a 24yo Kiwi has faced such harsh condemnation during his content creation career, as Pokémon was harassed after the former accused him for “Possim” when he collaborated with the latter Made fun of being in a relationship.
