The father of the journalist who was killed throughout a stay TV broadcast is reportedly interested by a run for Congress.

“I’ve got some time to ponder it,” he advised CNN.
Parker’s feedback come after Goodlatte, the House Judiciary Committee chairman, introduced Thursday he would not search reelection. Goodlatte is the newest in a string of GOP lawmakers to announce their retirement.
Parker’s daughter, Alison Parker, was shot and killed throughout a stay broadcast in 2015. On Tuesday, Chris Hurst, Alison’s boyfriend on the time, gained his race for a seat within the Virginia House of Delegates, defeating three-term incumbent Del. Joseph Yost, a Republican.
“I feel like the dog chasing the car and finally caught it,” Parker advised CNN about listening to the information that Goodlatte wouldn’t search reelection.
“I’m just glad to see the guy is finally going to get out of office,” he mentioned.
He mentioned it is good for the nation that the Virginia Republican is leaving workplace. Parker had hit Goodlatte for his hyperlinks to the National Rifle Association, based on CNN.
