MAPLEWOOD, NJ (AP) – An obese squirrel was captured on video stealing lipstick and gourmet chocolate that a family leaves out as a Christmas gift for delivery boys.
Michele Boudreaux, of Maplewood, New Jersey, said about In her blog, she offers treats, snacks, tissues, hand warmers and other items on her doorstep every year. She has never had any problems before, but this year, her basket was raided a few hours after being placed outside her home.
The thief seemed to point to the most expensive things, including about 25 squares of Ghirardelli chocolate, he said.  The family installed a surveillance camera to see what was happening and saw the overweight varmint standing on a stool, rummaging through the cache on Tuesday.

"I mean, this squirrel is so obese – a very cheerful guy – he should be preparing for a decade of winters," Boudreaux wrote.
Her husband tried to chase the squirrel to see where he was hoarding all the goodies, but he made a clean escape.
Boudreaux said he tripped over the rodent thief in the act of Wednesday, and recorded it by taking more chocolate and a balsam for Carmex's lips.

The antics "brought great joy to my family," he said.
She also puts a plate of treats for the squirrel on Thursday, filled with nuts, popcorn and pumpkin seeds. The rodent rodent showed its thinness once more.
