Time to burn off your battery life
Fantasy, the new dioramic RPG from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, released on Apple Arcade. But it turns out that was not the only game that made it to the service.
Apple announced today that more than 30 games will be coming to the subscription gaming service, spanning new games and old classics. Along with the new originals, Apple launched two new categories: Timeless Classics and App Store Greats.
The Classics section has some long-standing standards: a chess and backgammon app, for example, as well as the pretty solid one Good Sudoku by Zach Gage. Meanwhile, App Store Greats has a number of fully unlocked ad-free mobile classics, including Fruit Ninja Classic, Mini Metro, and Three!, which is responsible for many hours lost for me personally.
One big surprise is PlatinumGames World of demons, the mobile action game that was first shown in 2018 and then quietly disappeared made the Apple Arcade list. It has something really surprising Okami-These visual effects for your samurai and yokai story.
And of course there is Fantasy, which has a really cool battle system that allows you to deposit monsters in a pocket dimension and fight them all at once. Also, it has a lot of miniatures and dioramas that look really pretty.
As an Android owner, I’m a bit jealous. If only Fantasy makes its way to other services like some of the other Arcade hits like Grindstone have. Check out Apple’s blog for the full list of games coming to the service, including some genuine surprises like Taiko no Tatsujin: Pop Tap Beat and the sliding RPG Queen.
