The Education Volunteer Organization of the Alzheimer's Association will carry out its Community Education Program for Alzheimer's Disease entitled: Conversations about Dementia. The event will take place on Tuesday, December 12 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the main branch of the Lafayette Public Library. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will discuss conversations about dementia, including the basic concepts of Alzheimer's, how to talk to family members affected by dementia and basic caregiver advice on how to share information from a diagnosis with the person affected
This program will also provide information on the detection, causes and risk factors, stages of the disease, treatment and much more.
Caregivers are asked to bring questions with them to the event. The program is primarily for those who will take care of those with Alzheimer's disease, but those with Alzheimer's disease can assist with their caregivers.
