The highlight of the story
- Song fell on Thursday
- Sheeran talked about what he learned from her
"I have an email address that I send by email that actually changes every week," he said about how he communicates with the star singer.
That's right. Beyoncé probably has better layers of security to get to her than some heads of state.
Sheeran said the plans for the ballad, which was reduced last Thursday, have been in process since May and had a bit of a delay due to a major life event.
"Obviously she had twins and we finished it in September," she said. "I've been holding him ever since."
Sheeran said the two singers collaborated on "Perfect," with Beyoncé suggesting that the song be reduced to just the acoustic guitar.
The process was "a great thing back and forth," he said. They finally recorded the song in about four hours.
And what did you learn from Bey?
"One-shot voice," he said. "She was like, 'Right', she came in, a shot, it came out and it was like, 'Oh, that sounds good'."
