Eagles working on contract extension with Brandon Graham, according to the report

PHILADELPHIA – The Eagles are in talks with Brandon Graham on a contract extension, according to a Sunday report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Graham is under contract during the 2018 season, however, after signing defensive tackles Fletcher Cox and Tim Jernigan to extensions over the past two years and Vinny Curry in the spring of 2016, it's not surprising to see the Eagles looking to block to Graham. in the long term, too.

Per La Canfora, the Eagles are optimistic that an agreement will be reached:

They hope to complete an extension for the pbadage corridor, and have a continuous dialogue with their representatives. The Eagles gave an indication of their opinion on Graham, a first-round pick in 2010, before the season when they added some incentives to their contract. It was a bit late, but a player who fits very well in his scheme under the coordinator Jim Schwartz and who is having a year of career.

Eagles vs. Bears selections, predictions

According to SpoTrac, Graham will have $ 7.5 million against the salary cap in 2018, before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

At the age of 30, Graham has posted 35.0 sacks, including 6.0 this season and 18.0 in the last three seasons.

The Eagles have struggled to build the defense around the defensive line by selecting DE Derek Barnett in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, adding DE Chris Long in free agency and previously inking Curry, Cox , Jernigan and now working for a long-term agreement with Graham follows that philosophy.
