Eagles of Giants score: Daniel Jones proceeds to upset New York, leading to Streak vs. Philadelphia defeat

For the first time in 1,470 days, the New York Giants have defeated the Philadelphia Eagles. Daniel Jones had a turnover-free day and Wayne Gallman raced for two touchdowns as the Giants emerged in the NFC East race with a stunning win over the Eagles. New York had lost eight straight in the rivalry for the first time since losing 12 straight from 19 19755 to 19 lost, but on Sunday, November 7, 2014, the Giants registered their first win over Philadelphia.

New York, which had lost 21 of its last 25 to Philadelphia (including Postsen), defeated Doug Pederson the last time Eli Manning was the quarterback of the team. Sterling Shepard was the only veteran of that team in the current roster. Jones excelled in consecutive wins for the first time in his career, going 21 of 28 for 244 yards and a team-high 66 yards rushing in the win. Jones gave New York an early lead with a 34-yard touchdown run, one the Giants would never abandon. Gallman has two rushing touchdowns, trailing five in the last four games, rushing in New York to boost the attack and went for 151 yards and averaged 4.2 yards per carry.

The Eagles, who were making their goodbyes, struggled with situational football throughout the game, 0 for third on 0 and 1 for 3 on fourth. Carson Wentz was just 21 of 37 for 208 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. Wentz did not give up football, but the Eagles did not help him run the football only 23 times, despite running for only 23 yards. Miles Sanders with 15 carries for 85 yards and Boston Scott carried three carries for 63 yards – including 56 yards of touchdown – Philadelphia finished with 156 yards on the ground.

The Eagles and Giants have the same amount of wins, but Philadelphia remain half the game in the division. The Giants head into their bye week with two straight wins, while the Eagles will look to extend their NFC East lead against the Browns.
