Three Reasons You Should Watch Duke’s Mayo Bowl

It will be clever faster versus pure power. Wisconsin’s offense has been injured, disqualified and inconsistent after an amazing start, but the defense is ranked No. 1 in the nation, No. 1 at No. 3, and No. 1 in team possession time.

Wake Forest has a fun, creative attack that doesn’t care about a whip about controlling the clock, moves quickly, and doesn’t get out of the lines completely.

Both teams know how to play bowling. Wake Forest head coach Dave Klassen is 3-1 in the bowl with the program, only to lose in a good fight against Michigan State last year at the pinstripe.

Wisconsin lost to Justin Herbert and Oregon in an exciting match of the Rose Bowl last season, but head coach Paul Chrysal is 4-1 with the Badgers in the bowl.

There is going to be a quarterback story. Wisconsin does not have an elite running back, but Graham Mertz is the highest-ranked quarterback recruit in program history. He is working through a rough patch of a difficult season – the receiving core has been flattered by injuries – but he is a genius. Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman is a fun veteran who threw ten touchdown passes and just one interception.
