White House Coronovirus Advisor Drs. Anthony Fauci said Thursday that he is “not comfortable” with the level of Kovid-19 cases in the United States as the nation enters its fall and winter seasons.

The US is reporting about 40,000 new coronovirus cases a day, which could be worse as temperatures cool down and people get indoors, Fauci said during an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell said. “I’m not comfortable with that. I’d like to see that level, manner, down, well below 10,000.”

Fausi, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said some areas of the country are doing quite well, while others are struggling.

“In some areas of the country, such as the Midwest Northwest, and even now we are starting to see a little bit of trouble in the northeast in New York. Then you get worried because the respiratory virus is more difficult to deal with, like That people started going inside the house, ”he said. “And if you’re starting to look upwards, that’s the way we’re looking at it, and you have a baseline that’s 40,000 and stuck at 40,000, it’s optimal to enter the fall and winter Not the situation. ”

Health officials have repeatedly warned that they will need to fight two bad viruses circulating later this year as the Kovid-19 outbreak continues during the flu season. Last week, Vice President Mike Pence said Americans should increase the Kovid-19 cases “in the coming days” as trials are ramping up and concerns about coronovirus trends in some states.

In the last seven days, the country has reported an average of about 45,200 new Kovid-19 cases per day, up nearly 8% from a week earlier when the US was reporting an average of seven days on only 41,900 new cases per day, Johns. According to CNBC analysis of Hopkins University data.

Kovid-19 cases are increasing by 5% or more, based on a weekly average to smooth daily reporting, according to Hopkins data, in the District of Columbia on Thursday. Eleven states have captured record heights in average daily new cases, Hopkins data show.

Hawaii, North Dakota and South Dakota reached a high level of average daily new deaths.

Fauci said Thursday that Kovid-19 is “more severe” than the seasonal flu, opposing President Donald Trump who tweeted earlier this week that coronovirus was “far less deadly” than influenza. Facebook and Twitter later took action on Trump’s post in an effort to stop the spread of misinformation.

While influenza can cause more complications for young children, “no doubt” the effect of Kovid-19 on the general population is “far more serious,” Fauci said.

“I have no doubt, no doubt at all,” he said.

“The only thing I can do is repeat what I repeat, maybe 20, 30 times a day.” “To avoid the acquisition and transmission of this virus, which is highly communicable, you must have a similar wearing of masks, you must have physical disturbances, you should avoid congestion, you should try and make things more than outsiders Should do too much. ” And you should wash your hands often and leave me for any situation without exception. “
