President Donald Trump’s Twitter account was briefly unavailable on Thursday afternoon.
The account, which boasts 41 million followers, was down at about three:50 p.m. PT on Thursday, and returned by four:00 p.m. PT. It’s at present unclear why the account was unavailable. The message that surfaced on Trump’s account, nevertheless, sometimes surfaces on accounts which have been suspended.
Variety has reached out to Twitter for clarification.
Trump had tweeted as lately as three:35 p.m. PT, sharing a video of him formally nominating Jerome Powell as Chairman of the Federal Reserve.
The President had lately drawn ire for his tweets concerning the Manhattan terror badault. He tweeted on Wednesday that Sayfullo Saipov, the person recognized because the shooter, “should get the death penalty.” Experts instructed NBC News that his tweets might make it tougher for prosecutors within the case towards Saipov.
