Former President Donald Trump said “Happy Easter” in his own way on Sunday, linking his holiday wishes with his claims of voter fraud.
“Happy Easter to EVERYONE, including the CRAZY on the radical left who rigged our presidential elections and want to destroy our country!” Trump said in a statement.
His comments come a day after he asked his supporters to boycott companies like Major League Baseball, Coca Cola, Delta that have criticized the new voting laws of Georgia’s Republican-led legislature. MLB said it was pulling its All-Star game scheduled for this summer in Atlanta.
“Baseball is already losing a large number of fans, and now they are leaving Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they fear radical left Democrats who don’t want a desperately needed voter ID to have anything to do with our choices. “Said a statement from Trump on Saturday.
“Boycott baseball and all awakened companies that are interfering with free and fair elections. Are you listening to Coca-Cola, Delta and all that? ”He continued.
Georgia passed a series of electoral reform measures aimed at reducing fraud, but the legislation has received widespread criticism from Democrats.
The bill comes just months after President Biden defeated Trump in the Georgia presidential election by less than 12,000 votes.
It was the first time a Democratic presidential candidate had won in the Peach state since 1992.
Then, in a special election in January, two Democratic Senate candidates, Jon Ossoff and the Reverend Raphael Warnock, defeated Republican rulers Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, giving Democrats control of the chamber.
