Dolly Parton has advice for ‘divided’ America

Incognizant iconic country artists appeared on Sunday’s episode of “Today” to promote their new album, “A Holy Dolly Christmas,” and their Netflix musical “Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square”.

On “Today” she said, “I think we’re just so divided, ’cause people just love hate. You know?

“This Christmas season is coming,” Parton said. “But we need to carry that Christmas spirit of peace on earth and love each other. We need to take it into the new year.

“And God knows, I hope next year is better than this one,” he said.

Amen, Dolly Parton. Amen.

“A Holy Dolly Christmas” is Parton’s first holiday album in 30 years and features duets from several artists including Miley Cyrus and Jimmy Fallon.

Parton told “Today” that she had wanted to do another Christmas album for a long time, and I had time to do it, because we had been all the way home.

“So I started writing some of these original songs, and I collected some old classics,” she said. “And a bunch of friends caught up, and we just went for it.”

Leave it to Parton to try and make us all feel better in such a difficult time.

“We cannot save the world, but we can save the world we are living in”. “Maybe I’m dreaming. But I don’t think so.”
