Lady Gaga, her dog walker, and her beloved French bulldogs made headlines this week. Haven’t you been following the haunting saga? This is what we know.
What happened to Lady Gaga’s dog walker?
On Wednesday night, a suspect shot and wounded Lady Gaga’s dog walker, Ryan Fischer, and stole two of her three French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The third dog, Miss Asia, was not taken. The robbery occurred in Hollywood at approximately 9:40 p.m. PST, police say, and the suspect used a semi-automatic pistol and fled the scene in a white four-door Nissan Altima.
Horrifying home surveillance video obtained by TMZ shows a man jumping out of a car and confronting the dog walker, saying, “Give it up.” The men fight and a gunshot can be heard, as can the howls of a dog and the panicked cries of the injured victim. “Help me, they shot me. They shot me,” he yells as he lies on the ground. “Oh my God.”
KABC quotes a representative for Gaga as saying that Fisher is being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Fischer is in stable condition, according to a police statement Thursday night that also describes the two robbery suspects as being between 20 and 25 years old.
Where are the dogs now?
Nobody knows. Various media outlets are citing sources close to the singer who say she is offering a $ 500,000 reward for her comeback. Anyone with information can send an email to [email protected]
Why would someone steal French bulldogs?
In short, they are valuable and in demand. Puppies generally sell for between $ 1,500 and $ 3,000, but they can sell for much more. This is not the first time that French bulldogs, known as Frenchies, have been stolen. In November, it was reported that two French bulldogs were stolen from the backyard of a residence in Daly City, south of San Francisco. And last month, a San Francisco woman reported being violently assaulted and having her 6-month-old French bulldog stolen.
French bulldogs have large ears, large square heads, and compact muscular bodies. The American Kennel Club describes the breed as “one of the most popular small dog breeds in the world, especially among city dwellers. The Frenchie is playful, alert, adaptable, and completely irresistible.”
Where is Lady Gaga now?
The interpreter is currently in Rome, filming the new movie Gucci, about the famous family dynasty of fashion. Lady Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, an Italian socialite and ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of Gucci founder Guccio Gucci. Reggiani was tried and convicted for orchestrating her husband’s murder in 1995. Maurizio had two daughters with Reggiani, but left her for another woman. Ridley Scott will direct the film, which is based on Sara Gay Forden’s book The House of Gucci: a sensational tale of murder, madness, glamor and greed.
While Gaga frequently posts photos of the dogs to Instagram, the artist hasn’t posted anything about the theft of the dog. But her fans have used the singer’s social media accounts to express their regret for the attack.
“I’m so sorry to read this. I hope your babies will be back soon,” wrote a fan in an Instagram image of Gaga and her dogs.
The singer’s father, Joe Germanotta, did speak to the New York Post.
“We are sick of it, it is really horrible,” said Germanotta. “It’s like someone took one of your children.”
Who is the injured dog walker?
According to the New York Post, Ryan Fischer, 30, recently moved to Los Angeles from New York. One of her Instagram pages, Valley of the Dogs, features photos of what appear to be Gaga’s dogs, as well as many other canines.
The investigation continues. “Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery and Homicide Division, Robbery Special Branch, are seeking the public’s assistance in providing any information leading to the identification and arrest of suspected violent street robberies,” says the LAPD statement.
