The Walt Disney Co. unveiled plans Thursday for renovations and upgrades at its iconic Anaheim complex. New attractions, shops and restaurants are on the menu.
The “Disneyland Forward” plan will be implemented within the existing 490 acres of theme parks. Construction will focus on existing undeveloped areas of the complex near two Disney hotels west of the theme parks and in a parking lot to the east of the complex.
Details of the projects were not released in terms of cost and what will be done. The deadline for bringing the plans to the Anaheim City Council is before 2023, but city officials are said to agree with the Disneyland updates. No public funds will be spent and there are no plans for a third theme park in Anaheim.
