The 28-year-old is back in the spotlight with her docuseries, Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil.

In it, he details his near-fatal overdose of 2018 and his subsequent journey to sobriety.

Sitting with DeGeneres on Monday, she explained how she feels freer and more authentic since she got her hair cut.

‘I feel like I used to hide behind my hair,’ said Lovato, who confessed that she used to cover her body with her long locks when battling eating disorders.

Lovato also told DeGeneres that she hopes her docuseries will help people realize that they can overcome their ‘deepest and darkest struggles’.

He also said that another reason to tell his story is to “set the record straight.”

“Because this trip has been such a wild ride, but I have learned so much and I can’t wait to share it with the world.”

The trailer that was released last week surprised Lovato fans with her heartfelt confession that she suffered ‘three strokes’ as a result of her overdose, as well as ‘a heart attack’ that left her with ‘brain damage’.

As she continued to reflect on the incident that changed her life and the effect it has continued to have on her, her friends, and her family, Demi compared her stamina to that of a cat with nine lives.
