Investigators found three 12-ounce cans of White Claw Hard Hard Selter on Rivara’s boat. One was empty, the other was about three-quarters full and the third was empty. The remaining part of the White Claw 12 pack was found in his car.Rivera died in July after boating on the Piru Lake with his son.
Investigators say the boy told them that they both jumped into the water, counting 1,2,3. He then pushed her back into the boat, and then at one point put her arm in the air and yelled “Help.” He then disappeared into the water.
Workers at the lake later found the boat with her son on the boat, asleep.
Rivera’s mother, Maya, told investigators that Naya had a dizzy spell that went bad in the water.
Phentermine is a stimulant that suppresses appetite and is used for weight loss. Side effects include possible shortness of breath and increased blood pressure. Diazepam is used to treat anxiety and side effects include weak or shallow breathing, drowsiness, muscle weakness, and unusual risk-taking behavior. Amphetamine is a stimulant that is advised not to be mixed with alcohol. Side effects may include shortness of breath and seizures.
On the boat, investigators found her purse with her cellphone, a steady pink fluid with syringes, a loaded prescription slip for ID and amphetamine.
Her death is ruled out by an accidental drowning.
Rivera began acting at an early age, but gained national attention by playing the role of a gay teen on “Gayle”, which aired on Fox from 2009 to 2015.
