The Kia brand introduces its full range of models in the third quarter of 2018 Euro 6d-Temp, which is mandatory for all new vehicles only from September 2019 . The Kia team skips the Euro 6c emission standard for new homologated vehicles from September 2018.
All diesel models will be fitted with an SCR exhaust aftertreatment system which also reduces the emissions of nitrogen oxides . All vehicles with direct injection petrol engines are equipped with a particulate filter.
With the Euro 6d-Temp emission standard, emissions and fuel consumption are measured not only on the test condition, but also on in practical driving mode on the road . The new RDE (Real Driving Emissions) test method is used. Kia

In addition, a test on a test condition is carried out under tighter conditions. Here, the NEFZ (NEDC, New European Cycle) test was replaced by with a nearly realistic WLTP Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Testing Procedure.
"We are convinced that the new test method will contribute to making discussions on the future of diesel engines more reassuring. One thing is certain: if we want to achieve our environmental goals, we can not give up on modern low-emission diesel engines as bridging technology "says Kateřina Jouglíčková, PR spokesman for Kia Motors Czech.
In addition to the modernization of internal combustion engines, Kia's environmental strategy includes the continuous development of a range of alternative-driven models.
"Thanks to our offensive on electric drives, we were able to expand our offer in 2017 in the Czech Republic to offer hybrid vehicles, Plug-in hybrid vehicles and pure electric vehicles with extended battery ranges" Jouglíčková.
In the Czech hybrid market, Kia advanced last year with ecological versions of Niro Plug-in, Optima Plug-in and Optima Sportswagon Plug-in. And with the Soul EV model, the brand has been offering a highly developed, fully matured city electric crossover with an extended range of up to 250 km.
Next is on the starting line: Crossover Niro EV should start in the Czech Republic in 2018 . Kia is predicting an increase in the number of its electric vehicles by 2025 on a total of 16 models.
This also includes a fuel cell vehicle for the mass market to be launched in 2020.
