Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Talks Microtrans Of Multiplayer Mode – “We Won’t Be Aggressive”

The multiplayer experience of Cyberpunk 2077, which is coming after the single-player game was released, will feature some sort of microtransaction system, and now developer CD Projekt Red has shared some additional insights on their approach.

CD Prozac Red president Adam Kinski said in an earnings report that the developer is looking for ways for people to spend money and be happy about it in multiplayer.

“Well, we are never aggressive towards our fans!” he said. “We treat them appropriately and we are friendly. So definitely not – we won’t be aggressive – but you can expect great things to be bought. The goal is to design monetization in a way that helps people to spend. Pleases for. Money. I’m not trying to be cynical or hide anything, it’s about creating a sense of value. ”

Kicinski’s comments coincide with executives at other giant game companies such as EA, Take-Two and Activision, who have spoken out about their approach to microtransports. They want to create a transaction where the consumer feels they are getting their money’s value.

“Even with our single-player games: We want gamers to be happy spending money on our products,” Kikinski said. “The same is true for microtrans: you can expect more from them, of course. [Cyberpunk 2077] There is a great setting to sell things, but it won’t be offensive; It won’t bother gamers but it will make them happy – that’s our goal at least. ”

The multiplayer of Cyberpunk 2077 is yet to be formally announced, so there is a need to say or speculate very soon what its microtransport will look like. In addition to these microtransports for multiplayer, cyberpunk 2077 single-player games will have free DLC and paid expansions, such as before The Witcher 3.

“You can expect more, really. We’re not going into too many details today, but everything will be clear before release,” Kikinski said. “As we get closer to release, hopefully the plans post release will be revealed soon; a series of free DLC and expansions will be described – as I said, you can expect it soon and then all Something will be clear. ”

The multiplayer spin-off of Cyberpunk 2077 is not going to come out anytime soon. The last time we heard, CD Project Red said that you should expect it to be released as early as 2022.

In another CD Projek Red News, the developer has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2021.

Update: An earlier version of this article did not clarify that the quote was in reference to the multiplayer experience. It has been changed.
