Crowd protests ‘SNL’ vaccine joke as anti-Semitism

“Saturday Night Live” was not generating laughter on West 49th Street, as dozens of people turned up with megaphones and posters to protest a joke from the previous week about vaccines in Israel.

The crowd, led hours before the show aired by former State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, chanted “Shame on NBC!” and “Anti-Semitism is no fun!” outside of the NBC West 49th Street entrance.

Comedian Michael Che had sparked a backlash when he joked in a recent segment of “Weekend Update”: “Israel reports that it has vaccinated half its population. I guess it’s half Jewish. “

“It’s surprising that they still haven’t apologized,” Hikind told The Post.

“They did something so heinous, so horrible, personally I am sick and tired of a major network like NBC indulging in spreading hate. That’s basically what they did. “

He promised to continue “with whatever needs to be done” until the problem is recognized.

“I’m not going to be silent about these things that really endanger the Jewish people,” he said.
