Dun, NC – Health officials say that the number of vaccinators in the state is increasing, do not disappoint your guard.
Coronavirus cases and hospitals in North Carolina are falling, but doctors say we need to vaccinate more people before we are able to gather together in groups.
Some people who get the vaccine relax after their first shot wearing social disturbances and masks, Dr. Scott Gottlieb told CNBC.
“I don’t think people should feel completely safe after the first shot,” Gottlieb said on CNBC.
Experts say this is especially true for those who are older or already present and may be prone to coronovirus.
The majority of the population must be immune to coronavirus in order to achieve herd immunity and for it to be safe to remove masks. Experts estimate that 70% of the US population – which is more than 200 million people – will require vaccination to achieve herd immunity, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Researchers say it is not yet clear if coronovirus infection immunizes someone with the virus, which is why social disturbances, wearing masks and vaccines are important to prevent the spread. Specialist Dr. Anthony Fauci says that we can continue wearing masks next year.
“We need to vaccinate too many people,” Dr. Said David Wohl, infectious disease specialist with UNC. “I’m really hopeful that [this] Summer time will be much longer than last summer time. “
According to recent data from the CDC, approximately 84,000 people in North Carolina received their second dose of the coronovirus vaccine.
