COVID NY update: State investigating Parcare Community Health Network over potential vaccine fraud

NEW YORK (WABC) – A New York medical provider is being investigated for alleged fraud and receiving and distributing the COVID-19 vaccine, Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker said in a statement on Saturday.

Zucker said the Health Department was made aware of the report about the Parcare Community Health Network in Orange County.

The report claimed that the network somehow fraudulently obtained doses of COVID-19 vaccines and transferred them to other facilities across the state in violation of state guidelines.

In addition, the vaccines were allegedly given to members of the public and were not given to state-determined healthcare workers or nursing home residents and employees in the front row.

Zucker said, “We take this very seriously and the DOH will help the State Police conduct a criminal investigation into the matter. Anyone who willfully participated in the scheme will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

ABC has reached out to the ParCare Community Health Network for comment; His site describes his work as “a multi-specialty center providing services such as primary care, internal medicine, dermatology, physiotherapy and pediatrics, helping our patients maintain optimal health and prevent potential illnesses.” . “

In October, the Test and Trace Corps of New York announced an expanded partnership with ParCare, which provides free COVID-19 testing and resources for the Orthodox Jewish community.
